MISHAWAKA - Kenneth B. Burkett, 81, of 136 Strathmoor Ave., died at 6:05 a.m. Sunday in his home after an illness. Mr. Burkett retired in 1978 as a truck driver from Lone Star Boat Co. and Starcraft after 35 years of service. He was born Aug. 3, 1912, in Culver and was a lifelong area resident.

In 1935, in Rochester, he married Hattie Spencer. She died in 1969. In 1971, in South Bend, he married Mildred Louks. She survives with two daughters, Beverly J. Murray of Santa Clara, Calif., and Mary Lou Wolf of Mishawaka; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

There will be no services or visitation. Cremation will take place with burial at a later date in Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Hollis-Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home, South Bend, is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County Inc.
