Sister Mary Finian CSC, died at St.
Mary’s Convent Friday night after a prolonged illness. She
was born Elizabeth Burke in Limerick, Ireland in 1878 and
entered the Sisters of the Holy Cross in 1896, receiving the
habit in 1897. She made her profession of vows in 1902. During
her community life she was stationed in hospitals in Idaho,
Cairo, Ill. and at the student’s infirmary at the University
of Notre Dame, and in Jacksonville, Ill., untill he retirement in
1946 to St. Mary’s Convent.
Services will be at 6 a.m. Monday in the
Church of Our Lady of Loretto with burial in Our Lady of Peace
Cemetery at St. Mary’s Friends may call in the convent
parlor.
