Margaret C. Burke

SOUTH BEND - Services for Margaret C. Burke, 92, of Greenwood, Ind., formerly of South Bend, who died at 7:15 a.m. Tuesday in Regency Place, Greenwood, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Holy Cross Catholic Church. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., where a parish rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m.

Mrs. Burke retired as secretary to the director of Ave Maria Press at the University of Notre Dame, and was former manager of Aquinas Library and Book Shop. She was Oct. 23, 1901, in Chicago, and lived in South Bend from 1942 to 1985, coming from Chicago. On May 16, 1924, in Chicago, as Margaret C. Grogan, she married John J. Burke. He died Jan. 3, 1985. She is survived by a daughter, Carol Ann Erich of Charleston, S.C.; a son, John J. ''Jack'' of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was a former member of the Altar and Rosary Society of the church and Daughters of Isabella.
