Gertrude M. Burgman

NEW CARLISLE - Gertrude M. Burgman, 95, of 31891 Chicago Trail Village, died at 8:27 a.m. Sunday in her home. Mrs. Burgman was born Oct. 8, 1898, in Chicago, and lived in New Carlisle for 12 years, coming from Brookfield, Ill. On Oct. 29, 1919, in Chicago, as Gertrude Salzbury, she married Theodore Burgman. He died in 1988. She is survived by three daughters, Gertrude Barnes of New Carlisle, Dorothy Negent of Bridgeview, Ill., and Patricia Knupp of Eagle River, Wis.; 16 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society of St. Stanislaus-Kostka Catholic Church, Terre Coupee, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 9423.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 201 S. Filbert St., where a parish rosary will be said at 5 p.m.
