Irwin L. "Shorty" Bueche, 91, of Dragoon Trail, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 17, in his residence. Irwin was born on April 30, 1912, to Leo and Myrtle (Lay) Bueche. Irwin was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret Meixel; his son, James; a brother, Leo; and by three sisters, Madalayne Beissel, Annette Hayes and Naomi Fuzy.

Irwin married Genevieve Meixel on May 30, 1986, in Berrien County, Mich. She survives along with a son, Edward (Gynette) Bueche; a granddaughter, Terri; a stepson, Charles (Sherry) Meixel; and by two step-grandchildren, Cynthia Solvie and Charles Meixel Jr. Irwin has five step-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 19, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka. The funeral service will be held Saturday, Dec. 20, at 1:30 p.m. in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, with Brother Nathen Farley officiating. The Rosary service will be held at 7:30 p.m. today in the funeral chapel. Burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery. At the family's request, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
