SOUTH BEND - Jean M. Budzin, 78, of Dunham Street, died at 7:40 a.m. Wednesday in the home of her son on Winfield Court. Mrs. Budzin retired in 1981 from the University of Notre Dame as housekeeping supervisor.

She was born Sept. 15, 1916, in South Bend. On Dec. 29, 1937, in South Bend, as Jean M. Zielinski, she married Victor J. Budzin. He died in 1973. She is survived by two sons, Gerald J. of South Bend and Allan J. of Toronto; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. She was a member of Senior Citizens Club and Rosary Society, both of St. Casimir's Catholic Church, and Polish Women's Alliance Group 65.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where the rosary will be said at 2:30 p.m. by the parish and Senior Citizens Club. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County Inc.
