SOUTH BEND - Harriet H. Bryson, 99, of the Milton Home, died at 10:25 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 20, in the Milton Home. She was born on Sept. 1, 1898, in Grand Meadow, Minn., and had lived in South Bend, Ind., since 1934, coming here from Cleveland, Ohio.
On Sept. 9, 1922, in Minneapolis, Minn., as Harriet Hutchinson, she married Arthur Robert Bryson, who preceded her in death on April 4, 1975. Mrs. Bryson is survived by a brother, Charles Hutchinson of Tucson, Ariz.; and by a niece, Joan Zirko of West Yellowstone, Mont.
Mrs. Bryson was a homemaker. In her earlier years she had worked in Chicago, Ill., in a steel mill where she did clerical work.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Progress Club and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a charter member of the South Bend Garden Club where she started the Garden of Fragrance. She had worked many years ago for the American Red Cross. She enjoyed gardening, reading and was interested in current events.
Services will be at 3 p.m. on Monday in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William Street, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Entombment will be in the Riverside Mausoleum.
