Mary Alice Brunner, 85, of Hamilton Grove Retirement Community, New Carlisle, Ind., died on Wednesday, July 2, following a long illness. Mrs. Brunner was born August 20, 1911, in Mishawaka, Ind., to Raleigh and Mary Walker. She was a lifetime area resident.
As Mary Alice Walker, she married Bud Drake in Mishawaka. On October 14, 1950, she married Alfred G. Brunner, who died on May 28, 1987. She is survived by three sons, Donald Drake of Troy, Mich., Robert Drake of Stow, Ohio, and Dennis Drake of South Bend, Ind. Eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive; with three brothers, Robert Walker of California, Tab Walker of Elkhart, Ind., and Donald Walker of Mishawaka. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Raleigh, Herb, Ray and Carl; and by three sisters, Doris, Donnebelle and Bertha.
She was a member of the Albright United Methodist Church, Mishawaka. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 North Main Street, Mishawaka, where services will be at 10 am on Saturday with Rev. Kenneth Mahan officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
