Debra J. Brunner, 47, our loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend suddenly passed away on Saturday, December 11th at 9:30 a.m. at Methodist Hospital, in Indianapolis, of natural causes. She was born Debra J. Peto to Gloria Smith and Frank Peto on April 30th, 1957. She attended Mishawaka High School and graduated in 1976.
In 1977, she married her former husband of 15 years, Charles M. Brunner of Mishawaka. Anyone who knew Deb knew that she cherished life and was a beautiful, compassionate lovable angel. Deb survived a very difficult and courageous battle with Hodgkin's disease in 1990. She always stayed strong and confident and lived life to it's fullest. She was a devoted hardworking woman. She cherished her free time with her family and enjoyed going to the Phoenix Bar and Grill where she loved to dance and meet people. One in particular was extremely special to her.
Deb was employed by MSC Industrial Supply Company. She also worked for Qualex Photo Lab for 15 years. Survivors include her mother Gloria Rickey; father, Frank Peto; stepfather, Tom Rickey; her former husband, Charles M. Brunner; her "favorite" sister-in-law, Jody Brunner; daughters, Amanda and Melissa Brunner; two grandchildren that she loved very much, her "handsome" grandson, Preston Martinez and her "little princess", Nevaeh Shriver; sister, Connie Underwood; brother, Criss (Cari) Rickey; stepbrother, Tom Rickey Jr.; nephews, Criss Rickey, Kyle Banks, Joel Underwood and Dustin and Brandon Rickey; and by two nieces, Sara and Cari Rickey.
Friends and family may visit Thursday, Dec. 16th, from 2 to 4 p.m. in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, where funeral services will be at 4:00 p.m., with Rev. Erv Mize officiating.
