Mrs. Jolanda Brueseke

June 16, 1907 – November 10, 1983

Mrs. Jolanda Sommer Brueseke, 76, of 2835 Jamestown Ct. S., Mishawaka, died at 2:50pm Thursday in Memorial Hospital, after a brief illness.

Born on June 16, 1907, in Vienna, Austria, she had lived in the South Bend-Mishawaka area for 35 years, coming from Sandusky OH.  On August 2, 1928, in St Louis MO, she married Rev. Edward W. Brueseke D.D., who was former pastor of Zion United Church of Christ.  He died on September 22, 1969.  Surviving are two sons, Rev. Richard S. Brueseke of Waverly OH and Harold E. Brueseke of South Bend; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Hertha Martindale of Pompano Beach FL; and a brother, Harold Sommer of Redondo Beach CA.

Memorial service will be held at 1:30pm Tuesday in the Zion United Church of Christ, with Rev. May Lundgren, associate pastor, officiating.  Interment will be in St Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.  Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm Sunday in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William.  Memorial contributions may be made to the memorial fund of the Zion United Church of Christ, of which she was a member.
