GRANGER - Robert F. Brown, 73, of Bittersweet Road, Granger, passed away at 11:20 a.m. Sunday, September 28th, 2008. He was born in Mishawaka to Russell and Margaret (Gooley) Brown, who both preceded him in death. On December 27th, 1986, he married Ida Whiteman, who survives with a son, Greg Brown of Elkhart; and his stepchildren, Randal (Jean) Whiteman of Galien, Michigan, Richard (Janet) Whiteman of Granger, Ronald (Staci) Whiteman of Birch Lake, Michigan, Ilona Swinehart of Centerville, Michigan, and Ileana (Bryan) Russell of Tampa, Florida. A brother also survives, Duane "Pete" (Sharon) Brown of Mishawaka; a sister, Jean Ellen Brown of Mishawaka; and 12 grandchildren. Mr. Brown was an electrician for Electrico and then H and G Services for 40 years until his death. He was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church, South Bend, and the I.B.E.W. Local #153 along with the Knights of Columbus.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. Thursday in Little Flower Catholic Church, South Bend, where friends will be received one hour prior to the services Thursday, and also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Bubb Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow the services at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to St. Monica School.
