SOUTH BEND - Kenneth P. "Bud" Brownlee, 91, of
Crestwood, IL, passed away at 5:54 p.m. Saturday, June 13th, in
Hospice House, South Bend. Kenneth was born May 1, 1918, in
Chicago, IL, to the late Frederic and Elsie (Bartel) Brownlee. He
was also preceded in death by a sister, Marie, and three
brothers, Bob, Erwin and Fred. On November 2, 1939, in Negaunee,
MI, he married Catherine E. (O'Sullivan), who died April 19,
2008. Kenneth is survived by a son, Kenneth (Sandra) Brownlee of
San Antonio, TX; daughters, Kathleen (Patrick) Utz of Granger,
IN, and Mary Kay (Dennis) Groen of Tinley Park, IL; seven
grandchildren, Christopher, Nathaniel, Jennifer, Jessica,
Kimberly, Pamela and Katie; and five great-grandchildren, Joshua,
Carter, Jacob, Brynn and Paxton. Kenneth was a lifelong
Chicago-area resident, and retired from Union Carbide Chemical
where he had worked as a food lab technician. There will be no
visitation. Private family services will be held at a later date.
In Kenneth's memory, contributions may be made to the St. Joseph
High School Scholarship Fund, 1441 N. Michigan St., South Bend,
IN 46617. The Welsheimer Family Funeral Home assisted with
