MISHAWAKA - William Earl Browning, 83, of Pear Road, died of natural causes Saturday at Regency Place Health Care Center, South Bend. Mr. Browning retired from Torrington Industries as a grinder in 1976. He was born Sept. 17, 1910, in Worthington, Ind.
On Oct. 29, 1938, in Kimmell, he married Esther Johnston. She survives with two daughters, Cora Colley of Mill Creek and Margaret Starkweather of Brownsburg, Ind.; three sons, William Earl Jr. of Fort Wayne, Charles of Elkhart and Ronald of Wolf Lake; 12 grandchildren; and a sister, Pearl Rightly of Mishawaka. He was former president of Indiana Wing of OX-5 Aviation Pioneers, a member of National OX-5 Aviation Pioneers and a former flight instructor for Stockert Flying Service, South Bend.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Bubb Funeral Chapel North. Burial will be in Sparta Cemetery, Kimmel, where graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Muscular Dystrophy Association or Crippled Children's Society.
