Genevieve G. Browning, 81, of Hamlin Court, South Bend, Ind., passed away following an extended illness on Monday, May 3, in Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center, South Bend. She was born on Dec. 25, 1917, in Terre Haute, Ind., to Carol and Flossie Gregory.

On Dec. 16, 1934, as Genevieve G. Gregory, she married Emery Browning in Mishawaka, Ind.

She is survived by her sons, Lester Browning of South Bend and Robert Browning of St. Petersburg, Fla.; seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; three sisters, Eva Mae Davis of Mishawaka, Dorothy Peach of South Bend and Joann McMurtrie of Mishawaka; and by her brothers, Hugh McMurtrie of Mishawaka, Raymond McMurtrie of Granger, Ind. and Jack McMurtrie of South Bend. She was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Huxford.

Mrs. Browning was employed by airport security and also was retired from Uniroyal Corporation in 1975 as a production worker.

Funeral services for Mrs. Browning will be held at noon on Saturday, May 8, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 North Main Street, Mishawaka, where friends will be received two hours prior to services on Saturday.
