Elmer H. Brown, 86, of Kensington
Ave., South Bend, died at 2:10 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26 in the Saint
Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend. He was born on July
21, 1916, to the late Harrison and Jessie Brown.
In February 1939 in Lakeville, Ind., he
married Hazel Bennett who preceded him in death on
November 13, 1980. 'On Sept. 17, 1983, in Jones, Mich., he
married Bonnie Lambert who survives. Mr. Brown is also
survived by a daughter, Sharon (Jack) Wagner of South
Bend; four stepdaughters, Darlene (Walter) Pinkowski of
South Bend, Pat (Lawrence) Simon of Dowagiac, Mich.,
Cheryl (Johnnie) Beavo of South Bend and Kim (Christopher)
Gambee of South Bend; a son, Delbert (Martha) Brown of
Fort Worth, Texas; two stepsons, James Lambert of New Carlisle,
Ind., and Michael (Becky) Lambert of South Bend; twenty eight
grandchildren, Albert Palmer, Jr., Robert, Raymond,
Michelle and Allie Palmer, Toni Talbert, Joyce Kouts,
Robert, Howard, Dale, Jimmy, Michael, Lisa and David Lambert,
Glenda Wells, Walter, Amanda and Paul Pinkowski, Bonnie Peacock,
Marti Burke, Angie and Laurie Simon, Gerri Sly,
Kellie Smith, Jason Beavo, Christopher and Nicholas Gambee
and Violet Mark; thirty-nine great-grandchildren and one
great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Edith Thorton of
Bremen, Ind., and Ruby Van Gorton of Orville, Calif.; and
a brother, Ernest Brown of Mishawaka.
Mr. Brown retired in 1981 from the O'Brien
Paint Company. He was a member of the Keller Park Missionary
Church, South Bend, where he was an honorary deacon and was a
former Sunday school teacher.
Services for Mr. Brown will be at 1 p.m.
Monday, Dec. 2, in the Welsheimer Funeral Home North, 17033
Cleveland Road, South Bend. Rev. Karl Yoder and Brian Beall will
conduct the services.
Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. today in
the funeral home. Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery, South
Bend.
