MISHAWAKA - James Isaac Brogdon Jr., 76, of East Grove Street,
Mishawaka, passed away in his home surrounded by his loving
family at 4:20 a.m. on Saturday, July 3rd. He was born in
Mishawaka on July 31st, 1933, to James and Edna (Zook) Brogdon,
who preceded him in death. On September 12th, 1955, in Mishawaka,
he married the former Beverly Compton. She survives with four
children, Cynthia Brogdon (Terry Maturo) of San Francisco, CA,
Valerie Milcherska, James I. (Tamra) Brogdon and Russell Brogdon,
all of Mishawaka. Also surviving are four brothers, Earl Brogdon
of Elkhart, George Brogdon and Walter Brogdon, both of Mishawaka,
and Craig Compton of Henderson, Nevada; seven grandchildren,
Christine, Tracey, Anthony, James, Matthew, Jeremy and Stephanie;
12 great-grandchildren, Grace, Gabrielle, Ashlyn, Ariel, Alyssa
Renee, Lacey, Lyndsey, Leon, Carter James and Carter Scott. The
newest great-grand-children to join the family include Baby
Kadin, who is expected in August, and Alyssa Amy. Mr. Brogdon was
a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from Hose
Assemblies Corp. in 1995 after 45 years of service where he was a
machine operator. Funeral services for Mr. Brogdon will be held
at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 North Main
Street, Mishawaka, where friends will be received two hours prior
to the funeral service on Tuesday. Burial will follow at Fairview
Cemetery, Mishawaka. The family has requested that, in lieu of
flowers, memorial contributions be made to College Park
Missionary Church, 2014 Liberty Drive, Mishawaka, IN 46544, in
care of Pastor Jim Bayer to supply Bibles to the St. Joseph
County Jail.
