Sister M. Callista (Agnes Melrose Broderick) CSC, was born in Melrose, Mont., on April 22, 1904, to the late George and Annie Daly Broderick. Her nephew, George Broderick of Portland, Ore., and niece, Marlene Broderick, Lynnwood, Wash., and many friends survive Sister. Before entering the Congregation, Sister Callista was a bookkeeper and office manager.
She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross in 1945, made her first profession in 1948 and final profession Aug. 15,1951. Her early education was done in Montana and Canada. She received a certificate in Accountancy from the International Accountants Society, Chicago, ill. She worked as controller in the Health Services Ministry of the Sisters of the Holy Cross at St. Agnes Hospital, Fresno, Calif., form 1948-1960 and 1962-1964; at Holy Cross Hospital, Salt Lake City, Utah from 1960 to 1962 and again from 1964 to 1968. She served as treasurer of the Western Region of the Sisters of the Holy Cross in Denver, Colo., from 1975 to 1982, and retired to Saint Catherine's in Ventura, Calif., in 1982. In 1997 she moved to Saint Mary's Convent, Notre Dame, Ind., as her health required and was active in the Ministry of Prayer until her death.

Wake services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23 in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto, Saint Mary's, Notre Dame. Funeral services will be at 10:03 a.m. Friday, Oct. 24 in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto, Saint Mary's. The Kaniewski Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
