Cecil E. Brinley

July 5, 1903 - May 28, 1985

Cecil E Brinley, 81, of 2810 MacArthur Ave., died at 10:50am Tuesday in St Joseph's Medical Center.  He retired from the US Postal Service in South Bend in 1965 after 30 years service.

Born July 5, 1903, in Goshen, he lived in South Bend most of his life.  He also resided at Donnell Lake, Vandalia, for many years.

On November 24, 1927, in Rock Island IL, he married Mary Lorena Gilger, who survives with a daughter, Patricia Meister of Vista CA; and two sisters, Maybelle Adams of South Bend and Bernice Sasse of Holiday FL.

Services will be at 11am Friday in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N William St., where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm Thursday.  Cremation will take place in Michiana Crematory.  He was a member of Maple Lane United Methodist Church, St Joseph Lodge 45 F & AM, Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend and Chapter 145 of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Fund or a charity of the donor's choice.
