Brother Hillarion Brezik CSC, 76, died Thursday at Dujarie House at the University of Notre Dame after an illness. Brother Brezik became a novice July 2, 1932, and professed his vows in the Congregation of Holy Cross July 2, 1933.

 

He served as a teacher at Cathedral High School, Indianapolis; director of St. Charles Boys Home, Milwaukee; and founder of Boysville of Michigan, Clinton; director of Variety Club’s Boys Ranch, Dallas; professor of art at St. Edward’s University, Austin, Texas, and assistant provincial of the South-West Province of the Brothers of Holy Cross, Austin.

 

Brother Brezik was born Aug. 5, 1910 in Houston. He is survived by a sister, Elinor of Houston, and six brothers, Rev. Victor, Al J., Frank and E. R., all of Houston, Wallace of Hobart, Ind., and Lee of Clearwater, Fla.

 

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in St. Edward’s University, Austin. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery, Austin. Friends may call Sunday night at St. Edward’s University Chapel, where a wake service will be at 7 p.m. Hickey Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements. Wilke-Amey-Clay Funeral Home, Austin is handling arrangements. Brother Brezik was a member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, the Texas Fine Arts Association and the Texas Social Welfare Association.
