Kathryn ''Kay'' Marie Brennan, 80, a resident of Santa Clara, N.M., entered into rest on Wednesday, June 4, at Gila Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Detroit, Mich., on Aug. 20, 1916, to the late Phillip and Mary Elizabeth (Ryan) Moore. Kay lived most of her life in South Bend, Ind. She was married to John Edward Brennan.
Kay worked as a secretary for Camp Fire Girls, Inc., for 30 years after first acting as one of the leaders. She was a Holy Redeemer Alumni and a member of the Notre Dame Alumni Association. She was a great football and baseball fan. Her favorite teams were the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago White Sox.
In 1992 Kay retired from her secretarial position, at which time she received an autographed picture from Coach Lou Holtz (former coach at Notre Dame), and an autographed football from the 1992 team.
Kay moved to Santa Clara in January to be closer to her daughter, Joan Atencio. Her hobbies were sewing, reading and watchings She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Elizabeth Moore; father, Phillip Moore; a brother, Gerard Moore in 1919; a son, Joseph John Brennan in 1953; her husband John in 1982; and by a daughter, Mary Kathryn Garrard in 1992.
She is survived by her sons, Michael Edward Brennan and his wife Dorothy of Michigan City, Ind., Philip Thomas Brennan and his wife Dorothy of Michigan City, Philip Thomas Brennan of Los Angeles, Calif., James William Brennan of South Bend; daughters, Joan Elizabeth Atencio and her husband Jesus ''Jesse'' of Santa Clara, Patricia Ann Novy and her husband Mike of Elmhurst, Ill.; 13 grandchildren, Robert ''Robbie'' Hatcher, Peggy Sockwell, Ted Novy, Beth Novy, John Novy, Danny Novy, Michael Brennan, Patrick Brennan, Stephen Brennan, Christopher Brennan, Jessica Brennan, John Garrard and Katie Garrard; three great-grandchildren, James Chaney, Kyle Brennan and Taya Beth Sockwell.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 435 S. Ironwood Drive, South Bend.
The funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday in St. Matthew Cathedral. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.

Casket bearers will be Ted, John and Danny Novy, Michael, Patrick and Stephen Brennan. Honorary bearers are the remaining grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and friends.
