Marilyn (Sunderlin) Brehmer, 72,
passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 3, in her home. Marilyn was born on
Feb. 23, 1927, in South Bend, Ind., to J. Harold and Marian (Clark)
Sunderlin. She was preceded in death by her parents; and
by her brother, J. Harold Sunderlin, Jr. She graduated
salutatorian from John Adams High School in 1944. Marilyn
graduated from Gulf Park Junior College in Long Beach, Miss. She
then attended Indiana University, Bloomington, Ind., and
graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University. On May 5, 1956, she
married Jack Brehmer of South Bend. Marilyn is survived by her
husband; her children, Kim MacKenzie of South Bend, Marnie
(Clayton) Taylor of Oklahoma City, Okla., John (Belinda)
Brehmer of Littleton, Colo., and Marilyn (Chris) Dolle of
Cincinnati, Ohio; her grandchildren, Tara MacKenzie, Clay and
Clark Taylor, and Elise and Christopher Dolle; and by her sister,
Sally (Jack) Wilhelm of Mishawaka. Marilyn was a member of
the South Bend Junior League, the Memorial Hospital Women's
Auxiliary, and was co-founder of the Notre Dame Blue Line Club.
She participated in the South Bend Bridge Center.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today,
Aug. 6, in the Hickey Funeral Home, 17131 Cleveland Road. Funeral
services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, also at the Hickey
Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery on the
Notre Dame campus. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice
of St. Joseph County, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
