OSCEOLA - Ralph Breden Jr., 79, died of natural causes at
4:30 a.m. Monday in his home. He was born on Nov. 21, 1928, in
Osceola, to the late Ralph and Addie (Truex) Breden Sr. He
was preceded in death by a son, Robert in 1973, a brother,
Robert, and two brothers-in-law, Robert and Butch Frazier. He was
a welder and carpenter in manufacturing. He was a veteran of
World War II, a member of Life Tabernacle Church, an avid hunter
and fisherman, and had played in the Milwaukee Braves Baseball
Organization at the Triple-A level. He was a member of American
Legion Post #308 of Osceola who will conduct military graveside
services at the cemetery.
On July 23, 1949, in Mishawaka, he married
Dorothy M. Frazier, who survives. Also surviving are a
daughter, Valerie (Charles) Hundt of Austin, TX; sons,
William of South Bend, Paul (Cynthia) of Lakeview, Matthew
(Kelli) of Osceola and Daniel of Pluffton, SC; 10 grandchildren
and 19 great-grandchildren; sisters, Blanche (Gordon) Ivy
of Houston, TX, Norma (Dale) Smith of Ft. Smith, AR,
Darlene Carls of Elkhart, Sharon (Pete) Brown of
Osceola and Linda (Fred) Carls of Alabama; brothers,
William (Barbara) of Mishawaka, Cecil (Bonnie) of South Bend and
Richard (Jennie) of Columbus, OH; sisters-in-law, JoAnn Yawkey
and Viola Weldon, both of Cassopolis; brothers-in-law,
Harold (Debbie) Frazier of Edwardsburg and David (Jewel)
Frazier of Osceola.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m.
July 18th in Life Tabernacle Church, 1135 Middlebury St.,
Elkhart, with Rev. Mark Johnson officiating. Burial will be at
Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call from 4 to
7 p.m. Thursday in Zimmerman-Inman Funeral Home, 1109 Lincoln Way
West, Osceola.
