John T. Braunsdorf

July 3, 1954 - March 7, 2003

John T. Braunsdorf, 48, of South Bend, Ind., died after an illness on Friday, March 7, in Memorial Hospital.

John was born in South Bend, son of the late Robert L. and Virginia Braunsdorf. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Marty.

On May 13, 1978, in Our Lady of Hungary Church in South Bend, John married Roseann Turk, who survives him. He is also survived by their daughter, Jennifer (Kenny) Jones; and by two granddaughters, Brooke and Lacie of Granger, Ind. John is also survived by his sister, Kathleen (Michael) Dvorak and their eight children.

John was the owner of Braunsdorf Plumbing & Heating, the family business established in 1901. He attended Purdue University. John was also an avid musician, playing as a drummer in bands since the age of 14, most recently with the Soul Riders. John loved his family, his music and nature.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday in the Hickey Funeral Home, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, where a wake service will be at 4 p.m. Monday. A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, in Corpus Christi Catholic Church, South Bend. Cremation will follow.
