Sister M. Francis Mechtildis CSC, 87, of Saint Mary’s Convent, died at 8:20 a.m. Thursday in the Convent.  She was born July 30, 1903, in Chicago as Camilla Braheny. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross at St. Mary’s on Jan. 31, 1926; was received as a novice on Aug. 15, 1926; and professed her final vows au Aug. 15, 1928. She was an elementary school teacher and served in Washington DC, New York City, Indiana and Illinois.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Monday in the Church of Loretto with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, St. Mary’s. Friends may call after 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the Convent Parlors, where a wake will be at 7 p.m.
