MISHAWAKA - Leontine P. (Teenie) Braeckelaere, 84, of Berkley Circle, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after an illness at 5:45 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15, in St. Joseph's Medical Center, South Bend, Ind. Mrs. Braeckelaere was born on Dec. 5, 1912, in Ghent, Belgium, and had lived here since 1921.
On Nov. 6, 1937, in St. Bavo's Catholic Church, as Leontine Lievens, she married Marcel Braeckelaere, who survives. She is also survived by a daughter, Judy (Jim) Richards of Columbia City, Ind.; three grandchildren, Kirk Richards of Mishawaka, Corey (Angee) Richards of Larwill, Ind., and Amy (Scott) Krieg of Larwill; two great-grandchildren, Samantha Richards and Lindsay Krieg; a brother, Ray (Yvonne) Lievens of Mishawaka; and by a brother-in-law, John (Alice) Braeckelaere of Florida.
Mrs. Braeckelaere was employed by Associates Investment Corp. for 15 years, retiring in 1975. She was a member of St. Bavo's Catholic Church.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, where a Rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday in St. Bavo's Catholic Church, with Rev. James Shafer officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Bavo's Catholic Church, 511 W. 7th St., Mishawaka, IN 46544.
