SOUTH BEND - Garry D. Bradburn, 70, of South Bend, passed
away at 9:18 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2008, in Memorial Hospital,
South Bend. As a third-generation carpenter, he retired in 2000
from the Local Carpenters Union, V.V. Engel and Morris Carpentry.
Garry was born on February 14, 1938, and had lived in this area
all of his life.
On October 19, 1985, in South Bend, he
married Nancy L. (Smith) Bradburn, who survives. Also
surviving are three sons, Ronny Bradburn, David (Marcy) Bradburn
and Steven (Sheila) Bradburn; two stepdaughters, Marie (Shawn) Claeys
and Genna (Karl) Stafford, all from South Bend. Also
surviving are Nancy's sister, Sandra (Ron) Buck; 10
grandchildren, Anastacia, Scott, Leroy (Laura), Amber and Alyssa
Trieber, David (Haley) Bradburn Jr., Josh Johnson, Ashley
Bradburn, Cheryl Olenik and Rachel Stafford; and
six great-grandchildren, Scott Trieber Jr., Angelina
Trieber, Leroy Trieber Jr., Adam Trieber, David Bradburn III and
Marjavoin Irvy; a sister, Sandra Rowe of Syracuse, IN; and
a half brother, Ben Lewis of Naubinway, MI. Four brothers,
William, Marshall, Dick and Jim Bradburn, all preceded him in
death.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m.
Tuesday, July 1st, in South Side Baptist Church, 1130 Jackson
Road, South Bend, IN 46614. Pastor Clarence Smith will officiate.
Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may
call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger
Chapel, 3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend, and one hour
prior to services in the church. Garry was an Army veteran and a
member of American Legion #364. He was a NASCAR fan, loved racing
dune buggies and tractor pulls. With his carpentry skills, he
loved building varying wood crafts and all types of furniture. In
lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Garry D. Bradburn may
be made to the Memorial Fund at South Side Baptist Church.
