SOUTH BEND - Gloria A. Boyles, 66, of Edison Road, died at 1:15 a.m. today in her home after an illness. Mrs. Boyles retired in 1988 from South Bend Community School Corp. as supervisor of special education in the transportation department. She was born Jan. 2, 1928, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident.

On Oct. 23, 1948, in South Bend, as Gloria A. Wedel, she married Robert E. Boyles. He survives, with three daughters, Karen Jo Boyles of Stone Mountain, Ga., Cathy L. Staley of South Bend, and Cindy A. Parent of Bremen; a son, James M. of Edwardsburg; and six grandchildren. She was a member of Lydick United Methodist Church, Retired Secretaries Association, Lionettes of Lydick, and Order of Eastern Star, New Carlisle.
