Opal N. Boyer, 72, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away Sunday, January 30, 2005, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. She was born on September 5, 1932, in Valparaiso, to Charles and Esther (Long) Bair. Opal is survived by her children, Kathryn L. Akkerman of Houston, Texas, Shannon M. Timm of Plano, Texas, Patrick H. Timm of Mishawaka, Indiana, and Michael C. Timm of South Bend, Indiana; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marjorie Iholts of Mishawaka, Indiana, and Esther Whitcomb of LaPorte, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and by two brothers, Arthur and Charles Bair. She was a member of the Women of the Moose #1057, Moose Lodge #58 and the South Bend Eagles.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. (CST) today, February 2, in the Bartholomew Funeral Home, Valparaiso. Pastor Ed Erskin officiating. Visitation with the family will be today at 2 p.m. (CST) until the time of services.
