SOUTH BEND - Jerry D. Boyer, 54, of 810 S. 27th St., died at 1:45 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph's Medical Center after an illness. Mr. Boyer was employed by Deck Manufacturing, Granger, for seven years. Before that, he was employed by Dodge Manufacturing. He was born Dec. 5, 1939, in South Bend and was a lifetime area resident.

On June 9, 1962, in South Bend, he married Rosilyn I. Johnson. She survives with a daughter, Susan Johnson of Mishawaka; a son, Jerry D. Jr. of South Bend; two grandchildren; and two brothers, Jack of Grand Rapids and Cecil Jr. of Michigan City. He was a member of Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 303 and Amateur Radio Club.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Hollis-Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
