SOUTH BEND - Gwendolyn J. Boyer, 80, of South Bend, IN passed away at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2008 in the Sanctuary at St. Paul Healthcare, South Bend. She was born on September 30, 1927, in Indianapolis, IN to Russell and Kathryn (Tatlock) Butterworth. On July 21, 1946, in Indianapolis, she married Robert D. Boyer, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Boyer is survived by four sons, Scott Boyer of Granger, IN, Mark (Cindy McCrea) Boyer of California, Dean Boyer of Washington and Eric (Carol) Boyer of Syracuse, NY: four grandchildren, Wendy, Aaron, Lauren and Zane and three great grandchildren, Nicholas, Alexis and Gavin. Mrs. Boyer lived most of her life in South Bend. She retired from Delta Star Electric, where she worked in the office.

Private graveside services will be held at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel and Southlawn Cremation Services, South Bend are handling the arrangements. Contributions in memory of Gwendolyn J. Boyer may be offered to the American Cancer Society, 601 W. Edison Road, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
