Francis Joseph Boyer, 85, of Merritt, Mich., formerly of South Bend, Ind., died on Tuesday, Oct. 17, in Cadillac Mercy Hospital, Cadillac, Mich. He was born on Nov. 11, 1914.

He is survived by a daughter and her fiancé, Robyn Peters and David Varney, both of Merritt; two sons, Francis Joseph (Tracy) Boyer II of North Liberty, Ind., and William (Shannon) Boyer of Sawyer, Mich.; four grandchildren, Nicholas and Stephanie Peters, and Heather and Bret Boyer; and two sisters, Mary Stubbs of Tennessee and Martha (Ralph) Smith of New Carlisle, Ind.

Services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21, in Burkholder Funeral Home, McBain, Mich., with Rev. O. Jay Kendall officiating. Burial will be at Butterfield Township Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today, Oct. 20, in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Michigan.
