Betty J. Boyer, 69, of Echo Drive in South Bend, Ind., died on Tuesday, Feb. 3, in Memorial Hospital.

She was born on March 3, 1928, in Detroit, Mich., and lived in South Bend most of her life. Ms. Boyer retired in June 1990 as clerk for the St. Joseph County Treasurer's Office after 28 years of service.

She is survived by two daughters, Nancy R. Boyer of South Bend and Lois E. (Tim) Reed of Rossville, Ind.; and by her granddaughter, Lauren B. Reed.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, with Rev. Frederick Pfotenhauer officiating. Cremation will follow.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
