Mrs. C. Bowman dies at age 88
Mrs. Cordelia Bowman, aged 88, died at 10 a.m. Sunday in the home
of her daughter, Mrs. T.B. McDonough, 429 East Third St, with
whom she lived. Death followed a heart attack.
Mrs. Bowman was born in Mishawaka, Sept 10, 1856, and had always
lived here. As Cordelia Ernsperger she married Frank D.
Bowman Nov. 17, 1881. He died July 25, 1924.
Mrs. Bowman was a member of First Methodist
church. Surviving other than Mrs. McDonough are a son,
Herbert J. Bowman of South Bend; one brother, William Ernsperger,
of Mishawaka; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the residence from Tuesday afternoon until
funeral services at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the residence. Rev.
Claude Garrison, pastor of First Methodist church, will officiate
and burial will be in Bowman cemetery, South Bend. The
pallbearers will be H.A. Hollingshead, John S. Hambright, John D.
Martin, Ellis E. Murray, Clem Harlin and Howard Ernsperger.
