MISHAWAKA - Anna M. Bowman, 96, of Mishawaka passed away
on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 in her residence with her loving
family at her bedside. Anna was born on July 28, 1912 in South
Bend to the late Emery & Theresa M. (Farkas) Meszaros.
As the former Anna Meszaros she married Lester Bowman on August
3, 1935 in South Bend, IN. Lester & Anna shared sixty- four
years of love and devotion. Lester passed away on January 23,
1999. Anna is survived by her six children, Patricia Ann Bowman,
Donald Lawrence Bowman, Lester John Bowman, David Emery (Tamara)
Bowman all from Mishawaka, Kathleen Mary Parker and
Barbara Louise Kiewitt both from Indianapolis, IN. Anna
was a loving and caring grandmother and great-grandmother to 14
grandchildren and 14 great- grandchildren. Also surviving Anna is
a brother, William (Patricia) Meszaros of Edwardsburg MI., a
sister-in-law Jean Meszaros of South Bend and a brother-in-law
Henry Grew of Arizona. A son, Kenneth Bowman, grandson Chris
Byron McIntosh, three sisters and four brothers preceded Anna in
death. Anna was a devoted wife and homemaker. She was proud of
her heritage by cooking her family Hungarian meals. Her passion
was gardening and heirloom seed cultivation. At one time she was
an antique dealer. Anna cherished her family and grandchildren
most of all.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 15, from 12 noon to 2 pm. The funeral service will follow the visitation with the Rev Dennis Ingle officiating at the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St. Mishawaka, IN. Burial is to follow the service at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend, IN.
