Lynn Burnett Bowers, 84, of Remington Court, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away on Sunday morning, Nov. 1, in his residence. He was born on Sept. 1, 1914, in South Bend, to Earnest and Georgia Bowers. He was a lifelong resident of the Michiana area. He retired as a machinist from Wheelabrator after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Pleasant Valley Church of Christ.
On Sept. 20, 1939, in Mishawaka, he married Sybil Hutchinson, who survives. He is also survived by three daughters, Linda Maynard of Elkhart, Ind., Nancy Wiley of Granger, Ind., and Judith Whitney of Stanton, Mich.; four sons, Paul Bowers of Michigan, William Bowers of Silver Lake, Ind., Leroy Bowers of South Bend, Ind., and Raymond Bowers of Mishawaka; his brother, Jay Dee Bowers, Sr., of Osceola, Ind.; and by 18 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Friends called from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. today at the Pleasant Valley Church of Christ, 10955 Edison Road, Osceola, with Rev. Kevin Gregory officiating. Burial will follow at the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Valley Church of Christ.
