Joyce Ann Bowers, 58, of Oak Road in North Liberty, Ind., passed away at 2:16 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, Ind. She was born on Dec. 2, 1943, to the late Stanley W. Sr. and Martha I. (Paskiet) Durski in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident. Mrs. Bowers was employed by Wells Electronics until 1995, after 25 years of service.

On Oct. 12, 1963, as Joyce Ann Durski, she married Hubert "Paul" Bowers in Holy Cross Catholic Church, South Bend. He survives. She is also survived by a daughter, Tracy L. Eggert of North Liberty; a son, Troy A. (Rosie) Bowers of Plymouth, Ind.; three grandchildren, Stephanie N. and Johnathan P. Bowers, both of Plymouth, and Shayla A. Eggert of North Liberty; and by three brothers, Stanley Durski of Roseland, Ind., Sylvester (Dorothy) Durski of South Bend and Norman (Patricia) Durski of South Bend. Joyce graduated from Central High School in 1961. She loved spending time with her family.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 25, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a Rosary will be prayed at 3:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 26, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, with Rev. Robert J. Austgen, C.S.C., officiating. Burial will follow at Sumption Prairie Cemetery.
