SOUTH BEND - Pearlie M. Bowens, 79, passed from this life early
Friday morning, July 23, 2010, in the Cardinal Nursing Home,
South Bend. She was born September 10, 1930, in Bells, TN, to the
union of Fate and Irene (Cole) Huddleston. She moved to South
Bend in December 2007, having lived in Toledo, OH, for many
years. She was employed as a cook with Mercy Hospital in Toledo.
As Pearlie Huddleston, she was united in marriage to
"Whitey" Bowens, who preceded her in death. She was
also preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine Payton; three
brothers, Franklin Huddleston, Arthur Lee Clay and Joe
Huddleston; and her stepmother, Mary Sue Huddleston. She leaves
behind to cherish her memory two sisters, Barbara Huddleston of
Buffalo, NY, and Mary Butler of Humboldt, TN; two brothers, Elder
Barry Huddleston of Jackson, TN, and Edward Earl Huddleston of
Humboldt, TN; a sister-in-law, Warnie Huddleston of Toledo, OH;
and many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much. Services
for Mrs. Bowens will be held at a later date in Jackson, TN,
where she will be laid to rest. The Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger
Chapel, South Bend, is serving the Bowens and Huddleston
