SOUTH BEND - Bernice C. Bowen, 93, of St. Paul's Retirement Community, died at 5:45 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Health Care Center. Mrs. Bowen was born Aug. 31, 1902, in South Bend.

On June 8, 1940, in Cincinnati, as Bernice Pommert, she married Albert A. Bowen. He died in 1951. She is survived by a son, William G. of Princeton, N.J.; two grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Dickens of South Bend. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.

There will be no services or visitation. Cremation will take place. Welsheimer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Kellogg Institute of the University of Notre Dame.
