Brother Arthur Bouvier CSC, 83, died Tuesday at Dujarie House at Notre Dame, after an extended illness. Born Joseph Victor Bouvier on Feb. 23, 1886 in France, he came to the United States when France expelled religious personnel from the country in 1904. He made his final vows on Oct. 13, 1912. He had been stationed at Holy Cross High School in New Orleans; St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas; Holy Trinity High School in Chicago; and Portland University in Portland, Ore. Since 1963 he had been at Notre Dame.

Friends may call after 3:30 p.m. today at Holy Cross Brothers Center Chapel, where services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery at the Brothers Center.
