Lowell E. Bottorff, 77, residing on Berkley Circle, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 5 a.m. Friday, July 25, in his home. Mr. Bottorff retired in 1981 as foreman for the Bendix Corporation following 30 years of service. He was born on Sept. 27, 1925, in Plymouth, Ind., to Clarence and Flossie (Arnold) Bottorff, and was a lifelong area resident.
On July 16, 1953, in Plymouth, he married Barbara (Haight) Bottorff. Along with his loving wife of 50 years, Barbara Bottorff of Mishawaka, he is survived by three daughters, Denise (John) Wenrick of South Bend, Ind., Cheryl (David) Phelps of Mishawaka and Nancy (Daniel) Hunter of Tustin, Calif.; and by four grandchildren, Ben Pluta, David Pluta, Korey Phelps and Olivia Bancroft. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Kyle Phelps, and by three sisters and two brothers.
There will be no visitation or services. Burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Ind. Contributions in memory of Lowell E. Bottorff may be made to Albright United Methodist Church, 504 W. Mishawaka Ave., Mishawaka, IN 46545; or to Hospice of St. Joseph County, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637. Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, South Bend, is handling arrangements.

MISHAWAKA -- Celebrating their 50th anniversary are Barbara and Lowell Bottorff of Berkley Circle. Mr. Bottorff and Barbara Haight married July 18, 1953, in North Adams, Mich. They have three children, Denise Wenrick of South Bend, Cheryl Phelps of Mishawaka, and Nancy Hunter of Tustin, Calif. They also have four grandchildren; another grandchild is deceased. Mr. Bottorff retired in 1981 as a foreman after 30 years with the former Bendix Corp. Mrs. Bottorff retired in 1983 after 17 years as a dental assistant. They have lived in Mishawaka for 50 years.
