Raymond William Bostedt, 74, of Greenleaf
Lane, South Bend, Ind., passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 30, in Memorial
Hospital. Mr. Bostedt retired in June of 1986 from Electro Voice
as a production manager for advertising and printed material.
Mr. Bostedt was born on June 16,
1924, in Blue Island, Ill., and had lived in South Bend since
January of 1950.
On April 17, 1948, he married W. Laureen
Davis, who survives.
He is also survived by two sons, Terry A. Bostedt
of Mishawaka, Ind., and William J. Bostedt of South Bend;
and by two grandchildren, Jamie L. Bostedt and Erik W. Bostedt.
Mr. Bostedt was a member of Epworth
Memorial United Methodist Church, and had served in the United
States Army, training in anti-tank infantry and truck driving. He
was a member of the security force at the Oak Ridge, Tenn.,
atomic energy plant and at the Los Alamos, New Mexico Project. He
was also a member of the South Bend area Genealogical Society and
a volunteer at the South Bend Public Library. Before joining
Electro Voice in 1970, he was employed by the Oliver Corporation
in the printing department from 1942-1970.
Funeral services will be held at 10
a.m. on Monday in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South
Bend, with Rev. Claude Joyner officiating. Burial will be at 2
p.m. (EST) in Beverly Ridge Cemetery, Blue Island, Ill. Friends
may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday in the Kaniewski Funeral
Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Epworth
Memorial United Methodist Church or to Hospice of St. Joseph
County.
