SOUTH BEND - Velma A. Boskey, 94, passed away at 4:00 a.m.
Thursday, June 12, 2008, in her daughter's residence. Velma was
born on February 11, 1914, in South Bend to Joseph and Mary (Horvath)
Palfi. She was the owner of Velma's Beauty Shop. Mrs.
Boskey was a member of Our Lady of Hungary Church, its St. Ann
Society, Sacred Heart & Rosary Society and Harvest House.
On June 1, 1935, in South Bend, as Velma
Palfi, she married Stephen Boskey. He died on November 10, 1976.
She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Aaron Leyes;
and by two brothers and two sisters. Surviving are two daughters,
Diane M. (Francis) Bueche and Carolyn (Kevin) Leyes, both
of Mishawaka; a son, Stephen (Edna) Boskey of Buchanan; five
grandchildren, Kevin (Stefanie) Bueche, Debbie (Kevin) Kuhl,
Keith (Lesa) Bueche, Tim Boskey, and Amy Leyes; four
great-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be
celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2008, in Our Lady of
Hungary Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart
Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 Friday in the
Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue where a Rosary will
be recited at 5:30. Memorial contributions may be made to the
Aaron Leyes Scholarship Fund, Mishawaka High School.
