Leroy L. Boschet Sr.

Leroy L. Boschet Sr., 79, of Huntington Beach, Calif., and
formerly of South Bend, Ind., died peacefully Saturday morning in
Cardinal Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, South Bend. Leroy
was born on December 22, 1956, in Fort Wayne, Ind., the son of
Leroy A. and Dorothy Boschet. On January 11, 1952, he married
Mary Lou Green. She preceded him in death in 1971. Leroy never
remarried.Leroy and Lou had five children, Dori Thomas of Bremen,
Nancy (Michael) Eby of Mishawaka, Mary (Myron) Danielowicz of
Mishawaka, and Leroy Boschet Jr. of Radcliff, Ky. Another
daughter, Jean Marie, died in Huntington Beach in 2005. Other
survivors include eight great-grandchildren, and his brother,
Michael (Pam) Boschet and their family in Warsaw, IN. Leroy was
preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Donna Rocmke, and
brother Eugene Boschet.After graduating from high school in Fort
Wayne, Leroy proudly served in the United States Navy on two
occasions: at the end of World War II between 1945 and 1946 and
just before the escalation of the Korean Conflict between 1950
and 1951. He was awarded the Navy Unit ribbon while serving as a
Hospital Corpsman Third Class in Yokosuka, Japan, after the
overwhelmed hospital and personnel worked tirelessly treating
thousands of United States Marines wounded in the Chosin
Reservoir.In 1980, Leroy retired from the Internal Revenue
Service after 31 years. He then moved to California, which was
his life-long dream. In 1987, he formed his own tax accounting
service, LeMarc & Associates and continued his life's work
until selling the business in 1999. Leroy was an active and
life-long member of the Lion's Club and was a 4th Degree Member
of the Knights of Columbus; he served these organizations with
much compassion and enthusiasm. He also was a member of St.
Mary's by the Sea Catholic Church in Huntington Beach, St. Mary's
of the Sea Holy Name Society, the American Legion (Idyllwood,
Calif.), California Society of Enrolled Agents, National
Association of Enrolled Agents, and the National Association of
Retired Federal Employees.Friends and family may call from 4 to 7
p.m. Tuesday, November 14th in Bubb Funeral Home, 3910 N. Main
Street in Mishawaka. Our final goodbye will be at 10 a.m.
Wednesday, November 15th in Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 2801
Corpus Christi Drive, South Bend, with burial immediately
following at Highland Cemetery. Any one wishing to join the
family, they will be meeting in Bubb Funeral Home one hour prior
to the mass on Wednesday morning, and will proceed to the
church.Special thanks to the staff at Cardinal for the care and
compassion that was shown daily for our father during these
difficult years. Your hard work and dedication is very much
appreciated.You will be missed very much Dad. We love you. Rest
well.
