James J. Borsodi, 71, of Marquette Boulevard, South Bend, Ind., died at 12:37 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, in Memorial Hospital.

James was born in South Bend on Dec. 7, 1931, to William and Mary (Rak) Borsodi, and lived in South Bend most of his life. James was the owner and manager of the United Underwriters Insurance Company before his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by a sister, Nancy Lockmondy.

On June 15, 1957, James married Jean Ann Weisel in South Bend. She survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Kimberly (Victor) Spaniolo of South Bend; a son, Craig (Kelly) Borsodi of South Bend; four grandchildren, Sabrina and Brianna Spaniolo, and James and Lori Borsodi; two brothers, William (Laura) Borsodi of Glen Ellyn, Ill., and Robert (Donna) Borsodi of Mishawaka, Ind.; and by two sisters, Mary Mitchell and Alice (Russell) Hays, both of Mishawaka.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 2822 Corpus Christi Drive, South Bend.

Friends may call today, Jan. 22, in Morning Star Funerals & Cremations, 21275 W. Cleveland Road, South Bend, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., where a Rosary service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Officiating will be Rev. Camillo Tirabassi. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, South Bend.
