SOUTH BEND - Kathy Borsare, 60, passed away after a
valiant battle against MS at 8:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 19,
2008, in her home. Kathy was born on August 8, 1947, in South
Bend, to the late Jack (Mooney) and Doris Sekendy,
and had resided the last years of her life in South Bend, moving
back after spending a number of years in Birmingham, Alabama. She
was a graduate of Purdue University and one of their most loyal
fans. Prior to being diagnosed with MS, she was an avid tennis
player. Kathy loved to read. You could always catch her reading
or listening to her audio tapes.
Survivors include sons, Brett Borsare of
Washington, D.C., and Michael Borsare of Boston, MA; a brother,
John (Marcia) Sekendy of South Bend; a sister, Sandy (Jim) Sabinas
of South Bend; nieces, Tricia (Troy) Moreno, and their
children, Tristen and Tanner, Beth (Matt) Antisdel, and
their children, Zachary, Caitlin and Lindsey, and Kelli Jachimiak;
and a nephew, John (Tonya) Sekendy and Max. She had been blessed
over the years with compassionate caregivers. They were family to
her also: DeLlonda, Jill, Maderina, Darlene, Clare and Willa.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 25, 2008, in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Family and friends may call one hour prior to services in the funeral home.
