Anthony M. Borowski, 82, of South
Warren Street, South Bend, Ind., died at 7:25 p.m. on Monday,
Nov. 20, in Hospice House. He was born on March 30, 1918, in
South Bend, and was the son of Marion and Sophie (Smucinski)
Borowski. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Lottie Zakrzewski,
Loretta Borowski and Amelia Borowski; and by two brothers, Leo
Borowski and Claude Borowski.
Mr. Borowski retired in 1984 from the
Hoosier Spring Company. Mr. Borowski was a member of St. Joseph
Young Men's Society, the Achievement Forum, and the AARP. He was
a World War II Army veteran with the heavy artillery, and was a
member of American Legion Pulaski Post #357.
On Aug. 10, 1940, he married Millie
(Mildred) Bajdek, who survives. He is also survived by a
daughter, Mary (Dennis Mike) Finley of South Bend; a son,
Timothy (Carol) Borowski of Crown Point, Ind.; five
grandchildren, Wayne Borowski and Bruce Borowski, both of Crown
Point, David Borowski of Nashville, Tenn., Jason Finley of
Charlestown, S.C., and Jessica Finley of South Bend; and by two
great-grandchildren, Victoria Lynn and Alexander Joseph Borowski,
both of Crown Point.
Family and friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m.
on Friday, Nov. 24, in the ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S.
Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be said at 4 p.m. Services
will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday in St. Adalbert Catholic
Church. Burial will be at the St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial
contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County, 111
Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637; or to the St. Adalbert
Catholic Church Building Fund, 2430 W. Huron Street, South Bend,
IN.
