Nathan Lee Borntrager, 42, residing
on Donmoyer Ave., South Bend, died early Tuesday morning,
February 19, 2002, in his home. He was born December 24, 1959, in
Goshen, Indiana as the son of Calvin and Rosa (Cross)
Borntrager of Middlebury, IN, and has lived in South Bend for 20
years following graduation from Manchester College. He was
employed as a Certified Public Accountant since 1995 with
Metzger, Mancini & Lackner Accounting Firm in South Bend. He
was a founding member of Granger Community Church and served on
the leadership team. He was involved in every aspect of ministry
at the church, from the Arts to Accounting.
Nathan is survived by his parents, Calvin
& Rosa Borntrager of Middlebury, along with three sisters,
Ruth (Kervin) Hershberger of Middlebury, Mary (Craig) Rufenacht
of Archbold, Ohio, and Leah Borntrager of Frankfort, Ind., a
brother, Phil (Evelyn) Borntrager of Harrisonburg, Va.; along
with six nephews and two nieces. Nathan graduated in 1977 from
Fairfield High School, Millersburg, and in 1982 from Manchester
College with a degree in Accounting.
Services celebrating Nathan's life will be
at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 23, in Granger Community Church,
15577 Cass Road, Granger. Rev. Mark Beeson, pastor, will
officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Townline
Cemetery, Shipshewana. The family will receive friends from 2:00
to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. today in the Townline Mennonite
Church, CR 1000, Shipshewana; and from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday
in Granger Community Church. Memorial contributions in memory of
Nathan Lee Borntrager may be offered to the Granger Community
Church, 15577 Cass Road, Granger, IN 46530. Arrangements were
handled by the Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South
