New Carlisle:  Evelyn Borkowski, 70, of US 20 died Sunday in Healthwin Hospital and Nursing Home.  Mrs. Borkowski retired in 1986 from Indiana Department of Employment and Training Services.  She was born July 30, 1923 in South Bend.  On June 5, 1948, in South Bend, as Evelyn Shott, she married Richard John Borkowski.    She is survived by a daughter, Constance M. Borkowski of Crown Point, Indiana; a son, John R. of South Bend; two grandsons, a sister, Mary Rose He died Sept 30, 1984.Roederer of South Bend, and two brothers, Casey B. Slott of South Bend and Thomas J. Slott of Berwyn, Illinois.  She was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church, Terre Coupe.

Services will be Wednesday in Corpus Christi Catholic, South Bend.  Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.  Friends may call from 2 to 5 and from 7 to 9 pm Tuesday in Kaniewski Funeral Home.
