Clem Borkowski

Clem "Sonny" Borkowski, 62,
of South Bend, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on Monday,
January 16, 2006. Clem was born on December 12, 1943, in South
Bend, to Clem and Ella (Horvath) Borkowski Sr., both of
whom have preceded him in death.
On January 9, 1965, he married Judith Singleton.
She survives along with daughter, Beth Borkowski of South Bend;
son, Clement Michael (Stacey) Borkowski of Colorado;
grandchildren, Benjamin Borkowski, Maddison Borek and Zoey
Borkowski; sisters, Mary Ann (Don) Gosa of South Bend and
Joyce (Wayne Vida) Ullery; and niece and nephews, Robert
(Lori) of South Bend, Debra Johnson of South Bend, Thomas
Ullery of South Bend, Stephen (Delores Grummell) Ullery of
South Bend, Douglas Merrill of Florida and Bonnie Merrill.
Clem retired from Slatile Roofing and Restoration after working
more than 40 years in the roofing industry. He was a proud member
of Roofer Union Local 26. He enjoyed camping and fishing but
loved most of all being surrounded every afternoon by "all
the guys" in his garage.
A celebration of life will be on Friday,
January 20, 2006, at 1 p.m. in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S.
Mayflower Road, South Bend. The family has requested that anyone
with pictures of Clem to please bring them to the funeral home at
the time of the services to share with the family. In lieu of
flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Center for
Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Joseph County or to the
charity of choice.
