SOUTH BEND - Elizabeth A. Boosi, 83, passed away at 2:22 p.m. Sunday, July 27th, in Memorial Hospital. Elizabeth was born on September 5, 1924, in Chicago, IL, to the late John and Victoria (Dominik) Gorka. On July 26, 1952, she married Louis M. Boosi in South Bend, who preceded her in death along with her sister, Mary Gustaitis; brother, Antoni Gorka; sister-in-law, Rita Gorka; and by her brother-in-law, William Gustaitis. She is survived by her three daughters, Mary Ann (Stanley Jr.) Harlozinski of South Bend, Michelle (Samuel Jr.) Craw of South Bend and Christine (Mark) Hoecker of Warrenville, IL; six grandchildren, Jacqueline Harlozinski of South Bend, Stephenie Harlozinski of Peoria, IL, Victoria Orlowski of Paris, France, Kathrine (Christopher) Plencner of LaPorte, IN, Zachary and Scott Hoecker of Illinois; three great-grandsons, Lucas, Jacob and Isaac Plencner; and by her special friend, Bill Murphy. Betty will be missed by all, she was our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, peacemaker of the family, and Boggle champion. Betty went out of her way to make everyone feel comfortable and loved. To know Betty was to love her. Elizabeth graduated from Michael Reese Hospital School, Chicago, IL, in 1945. She retired from Memorial Hospital in 1989 after 38 years of service as a registered nurse.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30th, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend, where a Rosary will be prayed at 5 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on July 31st in Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, South Bend.
